Paul- Episode VII & VIII:

Workaholic Paul Grove is all about company status and making money. He has no time for foolishness of woman and drama. That is until his work goal crosses paths with the lovely, easy-going Imogen.

Soon, through the time they spent together, Paul finds that mixing business with pleasure can open your eyes to seeing new things. However, will his new sight jeopardize the safe work relations he has grown accustomed to.

Excerpt from Book 4 of OFFICE Romance:

“Because my coffee is the best around. And you’d know that if you drank coffee.”

Hmmm, okay, sweet thing, he said to himself. Warm tinges buzzed around his lower area. Imogen balanced a blue painted index fingernail on a tooth at the side of her mouth. Paul could imagine how good her luscious lips made the tip of that finger feel as it wrapped around it.

Then, she slightly parted her mouth. He watched her tongue thoughtful slid around the edge of her nail before she removed her finger and said, “No, black coffee favour is too instant for a rookie like you. You should try something else first. Then, work your way to black.”

I know something I would like to work my way into, he thought. Wait, calm down. You are getting too creepy. Stay on point, son. Focus on the coffee, not the ass.

“Fair point, fine,” he cleared his thought and tried to clear his head by glancing at the menu that hung behind her. Drink names were scribbled in white chalk with prefect clear cursive. I wonder if that is her writing.

“Give me,” Paul said. “A pumpkin spice Frappuccino.”

“Naw.”

Paul was getting irritated by all these refusals. He didn’t like people saying no to him, or telling him that he couldn’t have something. He was raised in a single mom household that taught him to work double as hard to get past any obstacles. As a result, the word “no” was never an option he took easily.

As he eyed the pretty Imogen’s cocky stare down, he felt his resistance slip. Yeah, but Mama never prepared me on how to get past such a beautiful and stubborn woman.

“Hey, Paul,” Cindy Gallagher shimmed by on her way out to the parking lot. Her teal, Ralph Lauren blouse clinging to her round breast. “I just forgot something. Let’s have lunch later, okay.”

Paul nodded and looked back over to Imogen without bothering to stare at Cindy’s long sexy walk away.

“Now, she’s a Frappuccino drinker,” Imogen said knowingly. “A trendsetter, social, probably a bit reckless.”

Paul nodded his agreement. Cindy was reckless when it came to her choice in married, or unavailable, men. And the clothes she wears can bring the wrong attention at times.

Forgetting about his friend, Paul defended himself by saying, “Hey, I’m social.”

“No, you’re not.”

“Stop saying no,” he snapped. She wasn’t that cute. “You don’t know me.”

“Five days a week, I’m here. That’s over 255 business days a year. I’ve seen you a lot. You’re always on the go. Here from ridiculously early o’clock to well after everyone has left. You are no nonsense and here to work. There’s no socializing unless its on a schedule.”

Paul didn’t let the happy fact that she had been watching him stop him from making his point.

“Socializing!?! What are you calling this right now? I’m talking to you.”

“Oh, how could you not? I’m interesting,” she smiled widely and lightly did a bounce with her shoulders.

They both laughed at her silliness. Then, she reached from one of the machines and handed him a cup. “Here, try this.”

“Oh, you’re finally allowing me a cup of your coffee? I don’t think I want it now,” he asked as he grabbed for his wallet.

She leaned over the counter and placed a hand on his forearm. “On the house.”

The heat of her light touch sent waves of joy up his arm which delivered naughty possibilities into his head.
