Before I could catch my breath, he was shifting me to the left into a circle then turning me to shift the other way around. His movements were fluid and smooth. He expertly led my body around the floor, turning me with ease.

I felt vibrant and free as I let him move me around. My body didn’t resist. It didn’t need to think. I simply kept shifting my weight from foot to foot while he used my momentum to pull me one way or spin me another. It felt good to let lose my control and simply enjoy the dance.

“I feel like we could win on Dancing with the Stars,” I laughed near his ear.

He pulled his head back and smiled down at me. My eyes stayed on his mouth, refusing to glance any higher than those plump brown lips.

His scent of lemon and wood swirled in my nose and made my mind drunk. It sent me into a daydream of being on a summer vacation in the caribbean with a possible holiday fling. What ifs and responsibilities floated away in the imaginary sea breeze.

It was so freeing and exhilarating that I had to fight back the temptation to breathe in deeper and try to keep my focus on the present.

Suddenly, he stopped turning around and kept us shifting in front of one another. The basic step made me aware of how close we were to each other. Tingles vibrated through my limbs as I realized that all I had to do was lift up my chin to feel his soft, thick lips against mine.

I sucked in a small breath through my parted moistened lips. Waves of heat ran over my face and chest as I remembered how his mouth had felt a few days ago. I could feel phantom sensations of him sucking on my bottom lips before his sweet satin tongue slipped into my mouth.

“Why don’t you look at me anymore?” Tender curiosity rang in his voice, breaking me from the memory.

“I look at you,” I told his left cheek.

“No, you don’t meet my stare,” he pointed out as he ducked down to force eye contact.

I shifted my eyes around the room and watched the kids’ playfully smile while they chuckled in their dancing steps.

“¿Dime a ver? What’s up?” he pressed again.

“I guess it’s safer that way,” I mumbled in honesty.

“¡Qué lástima!” he sighed. His right arm pushed on to my upper back, bringing me closer to him. I felt his body heat warm my chest. Then, his voice went low and sexy when he added, “What a pity because I love getting lost in your eyes.”
